Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Belarus in Minsk. Sergey was a hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka, born on May 5, 1998 in Minsk Belarus. Her professional career has seen her achieve twelve WTA singles titles, which includes the Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. She is also an excellent doubles player. She's won two Majors to her name in this category, the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both together with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis champion, the Belgian won the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami in 2019 thus making her the Sunshine Double. Four couples only managed to accomplish this feat on women's doubles. On 23 August 2021 she was ranked second in the world singles ranking her top ranking again in the month of January in 2023. She rose to the top of the doubles rankings in the next year after triumphing in Melbourne. It made her the only Belarusian tennis player to achieve success in the field. She was coached by the former Russian tennis star Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the season in 2019 and partially at the start of 2020. She also briefly teamed up with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her from the year 2020. Her heroes are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
